The food was excellent and tasted amazing, only thing negative they charge 80 cents for an extra thing of sour cream and didn't inform about the extra charge until after receiving our ticket.
Do you love trains? Do you love BBQ? Well, you're in the right place. Kehde's is fun for the whole family! This is some of the best Missouri barbeque you'll ever have! And if you have a small group, you can request to sit in the train car! NOTE: Kehde's will close unexpectedly when they run out of certain dishes, keep this in mind!

I have been all over the country, and this was an experience that did not disappoint! The food was great, and the conjunction function, the food was bumpin'! This quant town gem lives up to local lore, as well as newcomers that explore. The service is faster than the Amtrak NextGen Acela. Yet the atmosphere never stood still. Bottom line, what an awesome Missouri gem in the midwest! We couldn't finish it!
We had no idea there was an option to sit in a train car until we were offered seats there (we had arrived from the rear of the restaurant and didn’t see it from the front). What a cool experience. Our waiter (James?) was super friendly and engaging, seemingly knowing everyone besides us that was eating in the train car that day. My buddy and I both ordered the mixed burnt ends (beef, pork and turkey). So good! The mashed potatoes and the fries were also delicious! This was my first visit to Sedalia but I’d gladly return here for a meal.
Wow. No one in our party had a bad thing to say about the food. We had everything. Ribs great seasoning lite on the sauce so you can choose. Chicken was tender and juicy with good seasoning. Brisket was amazing. Turkey had a nice smoke and still juicy as well. Beans had big chunks of meat and onions in them and were not an after thought. Green beans were the same. Most places they are super boring but these were lively with fantastic seasonings. BBQ sauce on the table with on the sweeter side (the way I prefer) and in my opinion the sweet tea couldn't have been better. 10/10 recommend.
My husband has wanted to visit this restaurant for a while, and we were finally able to try it out. It was such a fun and unique experience dining in a train car restaurant. The suitcases lining the top of the car were a cute touch. The food was really tasty as well. We ordered a couple of meals plus an appetizer, and we had no complaints. The service was great, too. Our waitress was attentive and very nice.
Update: This has become our family favorite! The atmosphere is fantastic, free pony rides for the kids while you wait for a table, train seating or tabletop- your choice, but the food....I just can't get enough! The white potato salad is so fabulous, the ribs were cooked perfectly, there's a turkey sandwich with cranberries dressing that is mouth watering. But truly, it's the staff. They are all so kind, accommodating, friendly and give you a sense of being a part of their family. Thank you Kehde's BBQ for being such a great place.
Got the burnt ends and was thoroughly impressed with the flavor and juicyness of each bite. Our server was awesome. Direct and just kept the flow going when ordering and was helpful in suggestions. The posh potatoes looked amazing and could be a meal by itself so be warned.
I was traveling through and stopped by this really fun BBQ joint! The staff was super friendly and the service was quick. I'd definitely stop by if I'm in that area again!
